Photography is a passion and has been for a long time. Way back in the 1980's I was an avid photographer, taking and processing mainly black and white images. I had a joint exhibition of my images with a friend's paintings at a prominent Launceston gallery and sold most of them. Painting as a means of expression took over for many years and only recently have I returned to taking photographs obsessively. Back in the 1980's digital photography as we know it now, was something from a science fiction story. The thought of travelling and taking 1000 images was ludicrous. Now, armed with a digital camera, I can take as many images as I have memory cards. The whole thing is even more like magic than it was back in the old days. I understand the technology even less than I did when standing in a dark room watching an image appear on paper.
